Overview of Graniitti in 2024

The year 2025 is fast approaching, and as the end of the year approaches, it's good to remind ourselves of all that Graniitti's 2024 included.

The year has been busy and has included many different events, successfully completed projects, new faces in our growing team, learning together and sharing knowledge under the banner of Heka.

Involved in our customers' most important changes

Over the past year, we have been involved in numerous projects that are critical to our customers' business. We have led, among other things, ERP system development projects, cloud migrations, CRM projects, and data warehousing and data analytics development projects. We have also been involved in the renewal of banking systems and helped our customers with successful acquisitions and tenders. As a recent achievement, we would like to highlight the completed banking migration project, where business operations were sold to another bank and an insurance company. We were involved in ensuring the smooth and successful implementation of the transition process.

The year has been full of interesting projects where we have worked closely with our clients to ensure their business goals are achieved.

One of the biggest changes of the year happened right at the beginning of the year, when Graniitti and Conversatum merged.

With the merger, our services expanded to also include public sector services. Now, with nearly 40 experts, we offer services that meet our customers' needs even more efficiently!

What is HeKa all about?

At Graniitti, people's satisfaction and well-being are more than important to us. How satisfied Graniitti employees are with their own work, expertise and company is visible to the customer. That is why we want the customer to always have the best version of our experts at their disposal.

With the help of Graniitti's own personnel competence development network, Mental Growth (HeKa), we want to offer personnel the opportunity to develop their own and each other's competence, while strengthening Graniitti's culture and Graniitti as a working community.

The first HeKa of the year was launched with a topical theme: generative artificial intelligence

Generative AI has developed enormously, so we decided to take a closer look at it together. We reviewed the benefits, challenges, different tools and methods of AI, and also considered security risks and responsibility aspects. Since new AI applications and interfaces are developing rapidly in the field of project management, it is important to recognize how AI can improve the efficiency of our work. The development of AI brings new opportunities to project management, and we at Graniit are ready to support our customers in utilizing these tools.

At the dawn of spring, we were able to delve deeper into an important topic, namely leading people, for two training sessions.

Business Coach Master and Team Coach Marika gave us a total of two training sessions on the topic of managing people.

In the first training session, we discussed meeting and leading people, which are part of a consultant's everyday work and are therefore important topics for us. In the next training session, we delved into challenging people management situations. We went through typical challenges and considered how these situations can be solved and how we can develop our own leadership. The topic was interesting, and we learned a lot of valuable lessons about how to better face these situations. We were given concrete tools and lessons that we can use not only in individual and self-coaching, but also in various group and team situations.

The year also included many other interesting HeKaa events.

  1. Taking responsibility into account in project work. We delved deeper into the perspectives of sustainability in project work together under the guidance of our sustainability experts. We looked at the perspectives of a sustainable data economy and digital ecosystem. We also discussed how sustainability is taken into account in the IT sector, projects, technology choices, digital services and data management.

2. Facilitation skills in project work.  We shared important lessons about facilitation skills and their role in project work. It can help foster new thinking, enhance decision-making, and ensure that the team forms a shared vision that supports project work and commitment to change.

3. Artificial intelligence to support the project manager. Since the first HeKa of the year started with the theme of artificial intelligence, it had to end with the same theme. At the last HeKa event of the year, our expert and AI enthusiast Maarit Takavainio opened up the world of AI to us with the theme: “How can AI make the work of a project manager more efficient?” We received useful insights for our work and practical tips for everyday life, such as how AI can help us plan dinner using a picture taken from the fridge.

As summer turned into autumn, we wanted to find out the satisfaction of both our customers and employees, so we conducted customer and employee satisfaction surveys.

A healthy work community is of paramount importance to us so that we can provide the best service to our customers and continue to exceed expectations. When our staff is healthy, our customers are happy too – this is what our latest survey results show.

Graniti's autumn festival in autumnal Nuuksio

This fall we headed to the beautiful autumn Nuuksio to celebrate Graniitti's autumn party. We started with orienteering together – some of us found checkpoints, some just found ourselves in the forest. After the rainy orienteering trip, we were able to relax in a traditional smoke sauna. The evening culminated in a hut with delicious food and relaxed togetherness.

But the best thing was getting to spend time together!

The year of granite culminated in a Christmas party!

Granite Christmas we got to celebrate at Via Tribunaali, where we got into the Italian atmosphere. The evening started with a cocktail training, where we learned to make each other's more delicious cocktails and even better mocktails. During the evening we enjoyed pizza puffa and mouth-watering tiramisu. Wonderful time together!
