Porokylän Leipomo is a family business from North Karelia, employing 180 people. The company's main products are rye bread and gluten-free bakery products. Porokylän Leipomo's vision is to be the most respected bread brand in Finland, whose rye bread is the choice when you want the best.
Porokylän Leipomo decided to develop their sustainability work and map out what their most important stakeholders expect and value.
Porokylän Leipomo's goal was to clarify its sustainability work and understand which sustainability aspects are most relevant to their different stakeholders. The company had identified the need to develop its sustainability activities and communications in order to meet the growing expectations of its customers and partners. The cornerstone of Porokylän's sustainability work has been to determine the emissions of its own operations and reduce emissions throughout the value chain, which cannot be achieved without effective stakeholder work. The survey was hoped to provide information that would help them direct and prioritize their sustainability activities more effectively.
We conducted a stakeholder survey for Porokylän Leipomo to map stakeholders’ views and expectations on corporate responsibility. The survey was based on the ten sustainability themes of the EU Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The survey was sent to partners, customers, owners, consumers and staff. We worked closely with Porokylän Leipomo, sparring with them on the survey and analyzing the results.
Porokylän Leipomo was able to utilize the survey results in the direction of its sustainability communication and strategy, as well as in prioritizing sustainability activities. The survey results provided the company with valuable information for developing its sustainability work. Based on stakeholder feedback, Porokylän Leipomo is able to clarify and prioritize its sustainability activities, which improves their ability to communicate their sustainability to customers and partners. The survey also helped the company understand which sustainability aspects are particularly important to customers, which in turn strengthens customer loyalty and brand value.
